Minimal, experimental music formed from cello drones, sparse piano, and tape.
Born from an attempt to examine the intricacies of tone, space and texture, Lowered employ reductive playing processes, preferring to emphasise the composite sonic qualities of their instruments as well as the environment in which they are recorded. The forthcoming album ‘Lost Seas’ was recorded without digital effects or processing, instead relying on experiments with microphone placement and naturally reverberant recording spaces.
The resulting introspective arrangements are akin to slow-motion chamber music.
